Here in Connecticut summer is well over, I am sad to say. No one knows better than I do-- I'm not used to these New England evenings.
Since my apartment is about 1 square foot of space, all my winter clothes went south for the summer to be stored. Which has left me to figure out this whole New England fall thing on my own with my flimsy summer dresses and a few cashmere cardigans.
This room reminds me of the warm days we all knew only a month ago- with the sunlight streaming into the window and fresh picked lavender awaiting a vase on the waterfall coffee table.
Wouldn't it be a dream to have beautiful windows like this? Well constructed, huge windows opening to a garden of lavender....
Since moving into my square foot of an apartment I must say I do love that it is pretty much all windows; however, poorly constructed leaky windows so that when it rains my square foot looks something similar to George Bailey's house when his wife welcomes him to their home for the first time.
Luckily I will be returning home to retrieve boots, and scarves, and all things warm in a few weeks, so hopefully Connecticut will hold off on the frost for a little while longer.
Until then I will take comfort in my renderings and pack away my memories until next summer.
