Friday was my very first time showing in Greenwich’s Art on the Avenue.
I knew about the month long event when I lived in Greenwich, but I never had the time to produce this many paintings for one exhibit until I started working on my art full time. I used to peruse the Avenue shop windows and promise myself that at some point I would paint full time and participate. I just had no idea that this would come a few short years later.
My work was selected by Katie Fong who owns possibly the most beautiful shop along the Avenue and creates the most exquisite evening wear for the Greenwich elite. Clients come and go in her shop and select pieces that they need for all kinds of events.
I was so happy to also get to meet Andrea Del Bello who creates the most gorgeous jewelry (and whose bracelets I particularly fell in love with!) Andrea has been creating jewelry since high school and began getting commissions for her work which she later made her full time career. Katie was hosting Andrea’s work for a trunk show, and always stocks Andrea’s beautiful work in her shop.
Here Katie, Andrea, and myself are all lined up with our work in Katie’s shop just before the crowd rolled in for the Art on the Avenue event. One of Katie’s latest pieces showcases the cold shoulder trend oh-so-elegantly paired with one of Andrea’s mother of pearl necklaces. (If you know me and my thing for anything pearl, you know it was love at first sight for me!) And beside that purple beauty is the painting which Katie selected first to be in the shop.
Six of my paintings have stayed in Katie’s shop to be shown throughout this month, so make sure to stop by and see all of them! Also in Katie’s shop this month are a carefully curated selection of prints and stationery from yours truly.
For purchasing art please call the Greenwich Art Council.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the opening reception! And I hope that those of you who weren't able to make it will swing by this month and buy a pretty print to grace your walls!
