Yellow Taxi to the Met

Even though we’ve mostly all switched to ubers, the taxi remains such a quintessential symbol of the city.  A yellow taxi is the only way to arrive.

New York City has always been a destination for me.  And whenever I visit, a perpetual state of being lost and found.  I would rush in at the end of the day to meet friends for dinner or drinks and drink in all the lights and energy before taking the last train home to my quiet “country” home.
Though I am always lost there, it’s always an exciting place to be and I love that no matter where you look in New York, there is a this juxtaposition of consistent movement and stillness in spite of it which I find so compelling.  A friend of mine recently said “There are so many people surrounding you all the time, that you can be alone, but if something happens- they will be there to help you.” I think the world saw a beautiful example of this in the moments of 9/11/01.
