Harbor View of Portland, Maine.
Red sky by night, sailors delight. Red sky by morning, sailors take warning.
This painting was a tumultuous one for me. I painted and repainted the sky until I covered it in an inky stormy blue. Only allowing the pinks to pop out in a few small places.
The emotion I paint is as much how I feel about the scene as how I feel about my painting in the moment.
Utterly apparent of this scene of the Portland Harbor.
