The American Road Trip
Forsythe Fountain
Savannah, Georgia

Painted in response to American artist, John Singer Sargent’s painting “In a medici Villa.” Also created in response to the sentiment by American author, Harper Lee in “To Kill a Mockingbird,”
”Real Courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.”

This is an emotional representation of the way Lydia first experienced Savannah. This is featured as the February painting along the American Road Trip Series, completely depicted in the 2019 Desk Calendar. The collection was developed in response to several American authors and artists who influenced me through composition, attitude, texture, color, emotion, and spirit of the artwork. The series was in an attempt to capture the timeless American Spirit and focus on the good, pure, nostalgia, purity, and joy of American life.

This is an original watercolor painting on arches watercolor paper measuring 8” x 8 and is signed by the artist.

A limited quantity of prints are also available of this print measuring 8” x 8.”
